Write On Playwriting for Actors

Playwriting has been proven to provide a highly effective outlet for self-expression. It helps children articulate and contextualize their thoughts, and promotes general well-being.

Writing effective dialog also builds empathy, as it teaches young writers to imagine and communicate the thoughts, words, and feelings of others.

In this dynamic class, students will work together to create original stories. Emphasis is placed on idea generation, creative risk taking and peer feedback.

As part of the playwriting process, students will engage in creative playmaking and acting exercises. They’ll hone their written, language, performance, and problem-solving skills as they write & refine their original stories.

The class culminates in a final performance where students will bring their work to life from the page to the stage (on the weekend of January 31st and February 1st)!
